CURRENT PROJECTS
The CVTA is at the forefront of multi-use trail development in the Anderson and Roane county regions. This area is quickly becoming a trail destination region and we are excited to be a big part of that. We currently have our work cut out for us with six pending build or reconstruction projects in and around Oak Ridge Tennessee. Below are a list of some of the current upcoming projects
Sinking Creek Trail
More Information about the sinking creek trail coming soon. We aren't quite ready to announce the details!!
East Fork Riparian Trail
Through the efforts of Recreation and Parks Advisory Board member, Ray Garrett, and Carol Evans of the Legacy Parks Foundation of Knoxville, permanent easements for the path of the trail were obtained with city and private land owners, along a 2.6 mile corridor from Illinois Ave to the extension of Tuskegee Dr. near the west turnpike fire station. With easements in place, trail construction has been accomplished through participation of volunteers from members of Venture BSA scouts, the Clinch Valley Trail Alliance (CVTA), and the Oak Ridge Breakfast Rotary Club (ORBRC). With the pathway finished, construction of six bridges across small streams flowing into EFPC was undertaken with financial support from ORBRC and private donors. Actual construction of all six bridges has been accomplished through manual efforts by volunteers from CVTA and ORBRC.
