CVTA: FEBRUARY 2023 UPDATE

Clinch Valley Trail Alliance FEBRUARY 2023 UPDATE

In case you missed the January meeting...

  • We're looking for name suggestions for the perimeter loop at Haw Ridge (around the shorelines, Mike's to Soccer, etc.) that's catchy and explains what it is. It also has to be easy to put on the trail signs that we've begun installing around this perimeter. Send your ideas here by February 12th.

  • The new Volunteer Trail Work Log is up on our website and ready for you to use to log any trail work you do that is not on a work day. This information is very helpful when we apply for grants and funding. Also, any current member (IMBA) who attends at least 6 work days and/or logs ~18 hours of trail work in 2023 will be eligible for exclusive Trail Crew swag!

  • Several events are in the works including the Hawduro enduro event May 5-6, 2023 which will take racers on a tour of all that Haw Ridge has to offer and only time them on their descents. Hawduro will be a fun, family-friendly event! Stay tuned for a spring edition of Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day which will take place in conjunction with the grand opening of the Little Skittle trail designed for the littlest off-road riders.

  • Several trails are currently under construction and we ask you stay off them until they are complete as there could be equipment and workers present.

  • Tennessee National is the premier southeast mountain bike festival hosted by Windrock Bike Park in Oliver Springs from March 16-26, 2023. The festival offers downhill, enduro, XC (cross country), XC short track, freestyle and youth DH competitions. Volunteers are needed to cover a variety of roles including course marshaling, assisting with merchandise sales, parking, managing the shuttle lift line, trash collection and more. Please consider signing up for one or more shifts. Click here to sign up to volunteer.
